My Journey
For nearly 30 years, I worked in IT. Over time, the pressure to do more with less took its toll, and a sweeping layoff became the turning point that changed my path.
Travel has been part of my life since childhood. I spent summers at camp in the Redwoods, went horseback riding in the Sierra Nevada, and later explored Kodiak Island, Alaska, when my husband was stationed there.

Our first trip outside the U.S. was a timeshare seminar in Cancun. The seminar was forgettable, but wandering Playa del Carmen, relaxing under a palapa on Isla Mujeres, and exploring the local market sparked a love of discovering new places.
Six years ago, I finally got my first passport for a work trip to Germany. I added a few days to explore outside Berlin, and since then we have returned to Portugal several times, taken the train to Madrid, and most recently traveled with friends to Prague and Brussels. On that trip my husband and I even hopped the Eurostar for a spontaneous overnight in London.
These experiences reminded me that the best trips are not about rushing but about finding moments worth remembering. That is the philosophy behind Travels by Rose: planning with a personal touch.
